Hurdling

Has anyone ever seen it called? Wasn't the play in either the Michigan game or Michigan State game hurdling?

I had it in a freshman game last week...first time I had seen it but it was a very easy call to make.

I didn't see the games but in NCAA, it is not illegal for the runner to hurdle.

I saw a TD called back last Friday for hurdling.

I've had it happen twice in games that I've officiated.
We flagged it both times.

As Welpe pointed out, it's perfectly legal, under NCAA rules (and by extension Texas and Massachusetts), for the runner to hurdle. It's the same under NFL rules.

I called it once and we picked up the flag. Much conversation about this as it was on video tape and it was a classic violation of the rule.

Never seen it since or before.

Peace

Yeah, but now I see they won't be allowed to jump over an individual opponent to block a punt, whether by a hurdling or diving motion.

Had it once in a 8th grade game a few years back and the senior official told me that I had to pick it up. I disagreed but had to comply. He was not happy with me for disagreeing with him.
