Thanks. Why would QBs want to put their hands under snapper less than a sec. before the snap, when they could just as easily, and legally, put their hands under to meet the ball as (or slightly after) the snap begins, and gain add'l surprise to boot?

When in doubt, contact to or with the helmet should be ruled a foul by game officials.:D

That is obviously written by someone that does not officiate. I saw too many plays where helmet contact was called at the NCAA and NFL level only to not be any helmet contact. If they care add more officials to the game if you really want this called.

Coaches and game officials need to be cognizant of the adornments worn by the players, and game officials need to consistently enforce the rules regarding illegal equipment and adornments to prevent further problems from developing with player safety and sportsmanship.
