Smoke, your desgination of Team B, I'm assuming this is the kicking team, so lets call them Team K for now.
Once the ball goes 10 yards (and all the other stuff for free kicks has been meet) the ball is a FREE BALL, there is no such thing as first touching at this point. Team K can recover and keep the ball at that point. These aren't the same officials that you mentioned in your Unsportmanlike post are they? If not, your chapter can use some serious certification and retraining of it's members. |
****Sorry wrong info**** Ok same game late in the game Team B scores to draw within two touchdowns so a onside kick is attempted. Ball goes ten yards then is touched by "R" team and then goes another 5-7 yards before R Team recovers. The head officail moved the ball back to the first touching by R Team Was this correct??

That is why I am asking I thought the ball would be spotted where it was eventually recovered.

The place where Team R finally recovered and downed is the place they would start their series.
As already pointed out, first touching applies only to team K. |
