I was the white hat for an 8-man JV game in Northwest Iowa. During an unsuccessful 2 point try, B1 is flagged for illegal contact to the helmet. The guilty party also decided to argue the call with my umpire and drew an unsportsmanlike conduct foul. For the illegal helmut contact, I gave the offense half the distance to the goal and a retry. Now here is my question. Do I award another half the distance for the unsportsmanlike conduct, or can I give the option of taking the penalty on the kickoff? I gave them half the distance which placed the ball at the
3\4 yard line. And you know what? They still didn't make the 2-points.

I am not entirely sure but i think i would have enforced the second penalty on the kickoff because it was a dead ball penalty

No option to enforce the dead ball foul against Team B on the kickoff after an unsuccessful try. The succeeding spot is where to go and that's what you did.

If they had declined the penalty for the helmet contact, then you could have enforced the UC call on the kickoff because the kickoff would have been the suceeding spot.

Argh... you got me on that one, even if it is highly unlikely any coach would have thought of that. Especially now that he just placed his teams confidence in the dumpster by taking away a chance to score 2 points .
