You sure replay "got it right"? None of the angles I saw met the "beyond all doubt" threshold.

That is not the correct threshold. And yes, he got it right. It wasn't even that close.

I know you don't officiate football and have probably never seen the NCAA football rule book, so let me help you with the replay threshold...

12-1-2 The instant replay process operates under the fundamental assumption that the ruling on the field is correct. The replay official may reverse a ruling if and only if the video evidence convinces him beyond all doubt that the ruling was incorrect. Without such indisputable video evidence, the replay official must allow the ruling to stand.

It was close enough that two actual college football officials ruled him short during live action and at least one other actual football official is questioning the overturn of the ruling on the field. Show me a photo or video image that shows the ball breaking the plane of the goal line...

It met the standard. One of the two officials you speak of came out of the end zone and the other was at least partially blocked out of a view to the ball. Neither had the time to see a clear goal line plane, nor did they have the ability to slow or stop the action. The replay guy did and made the right call.

1:10 - 1:11 of the video http://www.sportsgrid.com/ncaa-footb...ith-hail-mary/

No way the ball is NOT breaking the plane TD

Why was B not on the goal line before the ball came down?

Quite obviously a touchdown.

The videos I saw last night were not HD. After seeing that, I agree that it was a good reversal.

After further review (by me) the result is a touchdown. I am not sure of NCAA 7-man mechanics but I wonder why the BJ was not planted at the GL.

B has responsibility for the end line (until the end line is no longer threatened). F and S have responsibility for the goal line (until the goal line is no longer threatened).

B moved up to the goal line as soon as it was obvious that the end line was no longer an issue. Unfortunately, he didn't make it there until after the ball had been driven back out of the end zone.

Tough call for S because he never actually sees the ball. F probably had the best view despite being on the other side of the field.

Because he has the end line.

I want to know why the BJ is stepping in front of the FJ who should be planted on the goal line at the other pylon. That FJ should've gotten the TD, IMO.

Got it Right

The officials got it right. It was a score, no doubt about it. I even thought it was a TD the very first time they replayed it at full speed.

It's really tough for me to say that because I am a die hard Badgers fan. The game never should have been close enough for that play to matter

Then why does the rule specifically state that threshold?

(I agree with you, it WAS beyond all doubt - he clearly crossed the goal line and there was a perfect angle in this case).
