Hurdleing in High school football

Is there a rule aganist this, if so where could one find it and could someone explain it to me???

BktBallRef Sat Oct 08, 2011 01:13pm

Yes, it's an NFHS rule.

2-22
Hurdling is an attempt by a player to jump with one or both feet or knees foremost over an opponent who is contacting the ground with no part of his body except one or both feet.

It's for the safety and protection of both players.

Diving head first is legal. Leaping a player who is on his knees or lying on the ground is legal. Only hurdling narrowly defined is a foul.

What is the penalty and signal?

BktBallRef Sat Oct 08, 2011 04:07pm

So, how did you react when this was called on your runner?
