Ok, 5 yards beyond the NZ or original LOS.

Never said anything about listening.

10-0 or 0-10....

They don't respect you for "reminding them"

They respect coaches that know the rules, and who are you to speak for them?

Who are you to say they only called something because you mentioned it? All the trainings, meetings and directives from their association and state and they only called something because a guy they may or may not respect (and it is not uncommon for officials to totally dismiss assistant coaches in our world) said something? OK.

Peace

On topic partially, called an IHC Friday night and got the obligatory "let them play, this is football!" We do need to call this more.

Off topic, I coach my son's U12 football team and he was back to receive a punt. He was hit simultaneous to the catch, not hurt, but no call. I asked for a KCI. He said that he had time. My son told me at the end of the 1st quarter that he told him "if you want protection, you have to call for a fair catch!"

At half-time on the way to get my team's water bottles refilled, I walked pass the officials and casually asked what he told my son;). He repeated it but before I could say anything, the white hat interrupted. He said, "aren't you an official around here? You are a back judge right?" He apologized for the statement made to my son and corrected his U in front of me. No harm no foul. Actually, no harm missed foul.

My only point is that some officials appreciate a coach that knows the rules AND acts appropriately with that knowledge.
