Ohio State officials

I tuned in to the game part way through and noticed that the B was being the R and there were two U's - one in the middle and one being L. I assume that the R went down somehow and things got shifted around and the alternate was a "normal" U that came in to be L.

Does anyone know what happened?

Either that, or there was a huge mismatch in their shirt orders!

Some day, in the not so distant future, Honig's will sell shirts with holographic lettering. You will be able to change your position instantly with the press of a button.

They will sell for $399 and all college officials will have to buy one.

And every 10 seconds, an ad for Honig's will appear on the shirt.

You're right about the not-so-distant future, but wrong about the nature of the shirt. There's a research facility here that developed the first marketable LCD's back in the 60's, and their latest thing is zero-power displays on fabric. They could make a shirt that could switch from NFHS stripes to NCAA stripes to NFL stripes, have a variable position placard on the back, and display a flag and a state patch as well.

Not commercially viable above $100. ;)

Actually one of the crew members was sick before the game. So, the alternate was already working. When the Referee went down in the first quarter, the crew worked the rest of the game with 6.
