Black pants: to press or not to press?
What are everybody's thoughts on pressing the black football pant? I can't find any info one way or the other as to how "formal" to make them look.
I have found one brand (Smitty's) that makes them with a permanent crease via stitching (just like my hockey pants!), but Honig's and Cliff Keen do not. Does anybody even care? Does anybody's association have a rule on creasing them? -Craig |
I will let you know after tonight. The Honig's pants I first bought were heavier and they were fine if you washed them and took them out of the dryer.
I just bought the newer kind that Honig's has that were the lighter kind that were to be a little cooler, so I do not know how they will hold up. It appears they will be OK, but I will just have to see. But I do not think that this is as much of an issue as long as they do not look like you rolled out of bed with them on, which probably means if you fold them properly this should not be much of a problem either way. Peace |

Treat them as you would dress pants, including the hem.

I've been having them cleaned and pressed. I treat them like I would dress pants.
The Smitty's brand I bought on sale from a supplier in Florida last spring am having the hem re-done. The left leg was loose before my game last Friday night. When I checked the right leg, I was not impressed so I told the dry cleaners to just go over both again. I guess I see now why I got them so fast. |

The lightweight pants do not feel like you could even put a crease in them let alone keep one. They are similar to sweat pants texture with a different fabric.

Just wash & wear. With the white stripe down each leg, nobody's gonna be looking for a crease anyway.

We used the Honig's pants last night for the first time. VERY comfortable. The label says 95% polyester so no ironing and stay away from open flames! Have I returned to the 70's?
I like the look of the pants. Pretty sharp with the stripe which is a good "vertical" look which is slimming! :D |
