First scrimmage of the season
Hot, sweaty, and hard hitting. Very fun, but unfortunately had a punch and, of course, an ejection.
It's good to be back on the field. |
An ejection from a scrimmage? :) I understand but there is really no repercussion. I also don't see anything we can do if the coach decides to put the player back in the scrimmage.
Good to know that football time is finally here. I had my first scrimmage yesterday as well. |

What kind of scrimmage do you have where an ejection was even possible? Then again our scrimmages are only inter-squad type and they cannot play anyone (unless the rules changed which I do not believe they have). So if a player did something that would warrant an ejection the coaches would handle it.

Practice scrimmage between two high schools. I meant to emphasize the other part: "Hot, sweaty, and hard hitting. Very fun..."
Except for the one issue both teams seemed to be having fun, with lots of sportsmanship from players, coaches and a good amount of fans. We even had an adult chain crew and hussling ball-boys and ball-girls. (Is there a sex-neutral term for that: ball-kid, ball-helper, ball-go-fer?) |
NC can begin inter-team scrimmages on Tuesday.
We ejected an asst coach several years ago. A OOB play on the home side resulted in a skirmish and one of the 17 or so AC's over there decided to jaw with an opposing player rather than play adult and help break things up. |
Wow, never had a problem with scrimmages as they are the ONE time where coaches worry more about the players then the officials. They are always very enjoyable. We have dual scrimmages and multi-team scrimmages where a team will run something like 10 offensive plays and rotate another team in to face the defense and then rotate a new defensive team, etc. They run from the 40 and then 5 yd line for some goal line play.
