Knickers done in NC too?
 

The announcement made at our first clinic last week was that knickers are out, at least for our association.

Black pants required for all varsity games.

Sub-varsity games will be shorts until October 15th, then black pants or shorts as weather necessitates.


Maybe I'm just a sucker for nostalgia, but I didn't mind the knickers. Of course, as a second-year official I only got the chance to wear them twice last season.


I'm wondering if this is a statewide mandate, or if it's at the discretion of your local association. Anyone else from NC care to chime in?

Oh, and the new lighter weight black pants have to come from....you guessed it....Honig's.

Rumor has it in our area that we'll only need knickers for MS and youth, if the WH/crew chief calls for them. We switched to black shorts last year but can only wear shorts for scrimmages, youth, and MS games anyway.
