Lightbulb OT - Those Whacky Announcers Say the Darndest Things……

Kent State vs Penn State. Late in the third quarter, PSU is up 17-0.

Naturally, the booth chatter wanders around to Joe Pa and how long he will continue to coach. As always the conversation gets around to Bobby Bowden and just how involved is Paterno in the daily goings on at State College?

Color Man Brian Griese has this to say, “He is as involved in running this team as any 83 year old coach in the country!”

Good call sparky!

John Gagliardi is also 83 years old, so there is a basis for comparison.

Also, Gagliardi has 51 more career wins then Paterno.

I didn't know that!

.....and the announcer probably didn't either!

Here I thought Joe Pa was just hanging around to put more distance between him and Bobby Bowden?!

Thanks for the info.

Yup. 2003 was the best year ever for my alma mater's football team, but we ran into a buzzsaw in the national semis in the form of Gagliardi's Johnnies.
