And for some light entertainment, badly written NFHS test questions

By badly written I'm guessing the official answers will vary from what they should be, based on the question written.

I'll start:

All T or F:

In a section on Rules Changes:

Q: When a foul occurs during a down in which a touchdown is scored, as in rules 8-2-2, 8-2-3, 8-2-4, and 8-2-5, the succeeding spot, at the option of the offended team, may be the subsequent kickoff.

Q: The hash marks shall be marked so that they bisect the yard lines.

"Replaced players shall leave the field within three seconds."

False. Replaced players must "begin leaving" the field within three seconds.

But according to the NFHS test, the correct answer to this question is "true".

3-7-1 says:
...Replaced players shall leave the field within three seconds.

It's been intrepreted that they need to begin to leave in three seconds, but the rule says otherwise.

In other words, it's a badly written *rule*.

Q: In the case of a double foul, the captains are not consulted.

If the current trend continues, eventually that'll be true.

It's true now. No need to wait.

Perhaps you mean for all fouls...

That's funny. You get it. I wonder if the test writers do.

The yard lines bisect the hashmarks. The hashmarks TRIsect the yard line.
