Is it normal in texas for the referees to use microphones? I moved from a 3A school in Louisiana to II5-A school in texas. (cy-fair) we played memorial tonight over at tulley. Im on video because of a back injury keeping me out of play forever. I was just kinna surprised when the referee reached at his belt and annoncued who had one the toss etc.... Is this common here in texas?

It varies from school district to school district. In the greater Houston area the microphones are used in about 3 sites.
