Wow! I hope there all like this!

#6 team in the state upset 20-19 at home by an unranked team. Home team, down 20-13 with under 3 minutes to play. 70 yard drive makes it 20-19 with 36 seconds to play. Go for 2 and come up a yard short! Onside kick, one more snap and the game is over!

And it was hot as the !

Cool Hot topic: Mesh shirts.

Speaking of hot, what is your association's policies regarding mesh shirts? I'd like to make a proposal over here that if mesh shirts are worn, the entire crew must wear them.

Cool

Hey Otis, we must be online at the same time!

I'm from the island of Maui in Hawaii. We have 6 (next year 7) teams in our high school league. I've been officiating football at the adult, HS, and youth levels for 9 seasons.

Good luck with being the Ref this year!

The association policy is that everyone must wear them or nobody wears them. There's also a new mesh fitted hat out this year that some of the guys are sporting.

Wink Mesh Hats

I actually bought one of the mesh hats, intending to wear it at lower level games on Sat mornings and early afternoons. It looks so good that I wore it Friday night. No one more that 4 or 5 feet away can tell the difference. It really is cooler as it lets some air in on my pate. Maybe we should require some of the hotter-headed coaches to get them!!

Cool While we are on the subject of caps.

I saw those mesh caps in the catalogs. Sounds nice and cool! And I agree that certain coaches should be required to wear them.

This year our association got permission to wear black and white Hawaiian print caps. The order has not come in yet but it should be interesting to see. The rest of our gear is standard issue.
