Anyone else notice the Inadvertent Whistle sound at about the 8 minute mark of the 4th quarter when UW sacked Jacory Harris and caused a fumble which they recovered? I think it came from the R who was looking through the pile and had not seen the ball was loose. Didn't appear anyone at the game noticed either as it didn't appear to draw any arguements.

Yeah I saw that. No doubt it was an IW during a loose ball. I'm shocked the Miami coaches didn't argue it. Equally shocked that the crew didn't own up to it.

It wouldn't have done them any good.

If a player is ruled down incorrectly, but the fumble is recovered immediately after the whistle, Instant Replay can overturn the call and award the ball to the team that recovered at the spot of the recovery. Since that happened on this play, the crew just avoided the formalities of the review process and gave the ball to UW-Madison.
