Question from Bronco's game

Why was it a penalty when "Macho" Harris hit the Bronco after the interception? It didn't look like a helmet-to-helmet hit, the player was not defenseless and he could have made the tackle. Was it a missed call or was it correct and in which case why is the NFL calling this type of play a penalty? It is still football and guys get hit?

Thanks for any insights.

They treated it as targeting a defenseless receiver. As whether it was correct, you'll have to turn in to Mike Pereira's segment on NFL Network on Wednesday.

As an Eagles fan, I thought it was unfortunate. As a football official, I think it was borderline.
