They ride together to those assignments, with the driver receiving mileage reimbursement, but they’re not paid for their travel time, which can be six hours roundtrip to places like Burlington, and the hours and hours of training also happens on their own time.

The farthest I went this year was about 2.5 hours roundtrip and that was due a lot to rush hour traffic. 6 hours rt would be done only in a playoff game situation where we'd be compensated some more.

Despite the beliefs of many, gold trim is not reserved soley for military veterans. I've yet to see a Federal statute or policy stating such though I have heard of it being the policy of some official's associations.

The flag should not be used as part of a costume or athletic uniform, except that a flag patch may be used on the uniform of military personnel, fireman, policeman and members of patriotic organizations.
