play band
I don't have my rule book with me, but could somebody help me with the ruling on the "play band" players wear. It's the band on their arm with all the play numbers on them.
Is it considered to be a sweatband? can they wear them above the elbow and can they wear them with a sweatband?? |
Legal. We require them to wear them on the lower arm.

It is considered a sweatband, but per the POE this year it does not have to be within 3 inches of the base of the thumb. These are typically to large to stay put if they are worn at the wrist.
The POE also say that they are not to be worn on the belt for safety reasons. |
From the NFHS 2009 Rule Book, pg 84:
6. Banded Play Cards - These are legal if worn on the arm as they are designed; however, wearing them on the belt is illegal because it presents a safety hazard (fingers have become or been caught in them) when attached to the belt. They have different rules than sweat bands (which must be worn at the wrist as per the same page). As long as they are on the arm, they are fine. |
