Game Film and Editing

Does anybody know of a good program to use (free preferrably) that would let me take game film (dvd format) from coaches and edit it to show at the meetings?

Thanks

Sorry, can't help you. I've been processing ours on my Mac with an open source tool called Handbrake.

I've just started working with some of these products. I forgot what I paid but it was modest. Just browse the website.

There are different programs that will allow you to download form Youtube or other websites, convert the video format, copy DVD's and edit. Some of it is trial and error for me but I was actually able to download some field level game video from a couple of weeks ago and make single frame snapshots to show a holding call our WH missed that the my sideline went apepoop over.

I haven't used it, but try Welcome to virtualdub.org! - virtualdub.org. The software is free.

Additionally, check out videohelp.com. It is a great site that has tutorials on how to do vitrually anything with video. It will show you how to convert DVD to AVI so that you can then edit the video and show during meetings or even insert into powerpoint presentations.

If you're looking for something lightweight, free, and easy to use to cut clips out of longer running video, try this:

Some versions of Windows comes with Windows Movie Maker (built in free), which I believe you can use to edit movies.

Yes, that's a good editor. If you need something to actually rip the movie from a DVD, buy the easycap. It's like 15 bucks and works fantastic! It also comes with DVD editing software.
