Stupid question

What is the official NFHS or NYS policy on referee shoes?
The local association has a major issue with shoes that are not completely black...
Told you it was a stupid question...

Sounds like you need to find a pair of all-black shoes.

Or find some mostly-black shoes, and color in the non-black parts with a Sharpie. (that's what I did on my shoes... New Balance 350s... like these)

If you get the 350's, you don't have to color them in if you get the all black model (I got those myself; see the description in the previously provided link). Unfortunately, I recently split a seam in the shoes but I think that was normal wear and tear, not really a defect. They are a very comfortable shoe.

Some assignors are anal about a little white on the shoes. Tell him to bite you and wear what you want to. They all wear nike, addidas with white on them on ats and Sundays!

What about the state coordinator of officials? He actually said it during the rules meeting, that our shoes are supposed to be all black regardless of what's available. When someone asked whether it affects playoff assignments, there was no answer.

I've only been in FB for five years, but baseball/softball since '89. I've never been in an organization where even a white logo was acceptable. A black sharpie works great.

I bet you are just the pride and joy of your association.

Another little example of why I'm glad associations control nothing around here.

Starting this season, Louisiana has approved some particular style of Nike shoe with white.

I'm old school and still go with solid black.
