Ball State/Buffalo
Congrats to Buffalo and Turner Gill.
Would love to hear the replay official's reasoning for not overturning a ruling that had a runner out of bounds at the one when the replay showed the ball in the end zone and the runner still in bounds. |

Is that the same Turner Gill who used to play for Nebraska in the 1980's?
One of the first games I ever watched on TV over here in the UK was the 1984 Orange Bowl between Miami and Nebraska. After watching that, I was hooked on football which was just starting up in the UK. I became an official a few months later...... |

What possible logic confirms there was no touchdown?

Only thing I can figure is the F "saw" the left foot OOB before R foot went to the pylon. If he "saw" that then the ball would be where he picked up the spot. The instant replay explanation must be that they had an equipment malfunction (it has happened before) and they did not get the look we got that would have overturned the call. Remember, they did not "confirm" the call, they just said the play on the field stands.

REPLY: walt...must have been a different play. Ball was in his right hand and it sure looked like he was able to sweep it across the goal line (not extended) before his foot hit the pylon.
