JAX/HOU pylon
In the first half (may have been the first drive of the game). HOU receiver heading for the intersection of the goalline and the boundary. The reason I don't say pylon is that there was no pylon there....instead of being at the interstion it was 2 yards out of bounds, on the opposite side of the thick boundary stripe. I'm sure others on here saw it.
Did the official there (FJ I believe) just not notice it was in the wrong place? Was it in the wrong place all along? When working a wing, I have had pylons in the wrong place, some that have fallen, some that won't stay standing, and some of these I've notice before play got there, and other times I have not noticed it. I've never seen it in an NFL game, and in this play its correct position was important. Just curious if anyone knows how it happened?

I was watching the game on and off (more off). I must admit I totally forgot about it until I saw a replay of the TD this AM.

I ask this with all due respect. What exactly is the point of this? The position of the pylon is cleary defined in NF and I have been lead to believe it is in NCAA and NFL rules as well. Considering where this play ended up (with the offensive player diving for the corner) it seems obvious (to me anyway) that the pylon should have been there. And if I am incorrect, I certainly appreciate someone pointing out why it is a good idea to move the pylon back.
