Woo woo!

Congrats and have a good one!!

JRutledge Thu Nov 27, 2008 01:20pm

Thank you guys.

I will be working the 4A game between Bloomington Central Catholic and Aurora Christian.

Aurora Christian has a QB that broke the state record for passing and is coached by the former Super Bowl Wide Receiver Don Beebe. As a Back Judge I should do a lot of running. :D

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, I have a lot to be thankful for this year. This was truly a blessing.

Peace

Good luck, Jeff. Congrats. Make us proud.

Congratulations Jeff. You deserve this, not just because of the great work you do on the field but all the things you do to help new guys like me.
I have been reading these boards for the last few months and was wondering if that was you. You might remember me as the guy you sat with at the Providence, Oak Forest game.
Good Luck, I'll be watching on TV this weekend.

Wouldn't want to confuse him with all the other J. Rutledges who are sports officials from Wheaton, IL :D

Are Illinois state championship games played at Soldier Field?

...as an aside, it is quite interesting to see all of the high school football from all around the country. I saw one of the Wisconsin state championship games - I don't know how y'all do it up North, it was *ridiculously* cold out there. Our games are played in the 72-degree Louisiana Superdome.

Haha, yes it is pretty cold up here in Wisconsin. I went to the Friday games as a spectator, it was about 25 degrees and sunny. Definitely not warm, but atleast the sun was out.

I don't believe we even have any domed stadiums for football in Wisconsin.

IHSA Football Championships are played at Memorial Stadium in Champaign, home of the University of Illinois. There are 8 classes, so the IHSA needs an artificial turf field to play them all on (Soldier Field is grass).

I worked the chains for the 7 and 8A games, so I missed Jeff's game. Congratulations Jeff! I hope to step off the sidelines and work a championship game someday!
