NCAA Time out rule
In the Furman-Ga.SOuthern game this afternoon, Furman faced a 4th and 5 with about 1 min left at the GSU 24 trialing 17-10. Right before the snap, a referee blew the whistle. The White hat then announced that it was an inadvertant whistle, that GSU did not have any time outs left and it remained 4th down. SHould it have been a defensive delay of game? Just wondering the rule in NCAA. Thanks

NCAA rules do not (thankfully) provide for any penalty against a team when the refs screw up. R blew it by acknowledging it. We know how many are left and should not stop things when they ask for a timeout but have none left.
