NF Eye Shield question

The NF eye shield rule says eye shields must be clear, "if worn attached to the helmet." Has anyone ever heard of a situation where a kid is wearing a pair of prescription glasses that look like sunglasses? Would they be allowed? They are not clear but the difference being that they are not attached to the helmet.

The only thing that is not allowed is the eye shield. There is nothing wrong with sunglasses. I understand the reason for this if there is an accident where a player needs to be examined; it is much easier to remove sunglasses than an eye shield that is attached to the helmet.

Peace

This seems to come up almost yearly. The only thing that has to be clear is the eyeshield. Anything under them, that's out of our jurisdiction.

That's a good way of saying it. Thanks.

Let's be perfectly clear about what is legal.

I couldn't wear contacts for my first couple of years of high school ball. My prescription glasses had photosensitive lenses which were quite dark in the sun. There was no problem.
