HS Football on ESPN this weekend

Guys-
Two local Kansas City, MO, high schools, Rockhurst vs. Blue Springs South, will be on ESPN nationally this Sunday at 11:00 AM CDT. The game features two D-1 QB's, Dalton of South going to Mizzou and the Scheelhaase of Rockhurst going Illinois. In addition, they're also the last two state 6A champions. It's their first regular season game and it's probably one of the biggest games of the year around these parts, besides the fact that it's on national television.
In fact, some of the players for South are former students/athletes of mine. Should be a great game and fun to watch.

Congrats on getting a local game on ESPN. It's great exposure and fun for everyone involved. Indiana (Cathedral at Carmel) got the first game last week if anyone saw it and it was fun to see a national perspective for a big local game. The fact that it turned into a great game was even better.

Enjoy!

Is that the actual game time or are they just broadcasting it then?

That's the game time. They are carrying it live.

I set my TIVO on for 2 1/2 hours and missed the end of the Cathedral v. Carmel game. Who won?

Carmel came back. It would have been a good game except everybody had leg cramps. I thought the officials did a pretty good job on the game.

The big issue on the local discussion boards is the fact the officials allows players to wear arm bands and the tight bands around their elbows. Apparently the crew never said anything because it was very apparent throughout the game. Did anyone else notice?

I noticed this with all the HS games on this weekend. No wander the coaches are confused, since such high profile games include illegal equipment.
