Im just curious on what happens if someone is dehelmeted during play.

NFHS and NCAA- Play is over, ball is dead. NFL- ball is still live.

This only applies to the ball carrier. The ball is live when the defense loses their helmet.

The ball would also stay live if a player on offense other than the ball carrier lost his helmet. Only the ball carrier losing his helmet causes the ball to become dead in NF or NCAA.
