Pretty good read.
And I would say this. I haven't watched a whole lot of games this season, but I've spent the better part of the past 3 days watching bowl games, and I'd have to say that the officials have not hesitated at all when it comes to throwing the late hit/USC flags. I think they've done a good job of sending the message early and often that the "non-football" stuff is not going to be tolerated. There was even an sideline warning last night on OU in the sugar bowl, and in the game where the assistant coach was on the field and touched the live ball(brain fart, can't remember which one it was), I was listening to that game on the radio at work and there was a sideline warning on them early in that game.
