Sun Bowl - WOW! 21 1st half flags!

21 flags including 3 DB PF flags that the referee offset.

Very little discipline between these two teams as there has ben 9 PFs in the half.

I can imagine the crew hopes it's a better 2nd half.

It'll be a record on the next one!

Question about the triple PFs:
USF player commits late against UO's Stewart OOB. Then opponents draw PFs with a scuffle. These were ruled that all were offsetting with no yardage marled off.

Someone have a rule reference?

Don't have a rulebook handy but that is the NCAA rule. As long as all the dead ball fouls occur before the penalty for any of them is completed, they all offset

Oregon Coach was curious about that, too.

Complete Reference: RULE 10-1 / PENALTY ENFORCEMENT

Dead-Ball Fouls

ARTICLE 5. Penalties for dead-ball fouls are administered separately and in order of occurrence (A. R. 10-1- 5-1-VIlI) [Exception: When unsportsmanlike or dead-ball personal fouls by both teams are reported to the referee and before any of the penalties have been completed or the order of occurrence cannot be determined, the fouls offset, the number or type of down established before the fouls occurred is unaffected, and the penalties are canceled, except that any disqualified player must leave the game (Rules 5-2-6 and 10-2-2-a)].

Okay NCAA guys, forgive me but that seems to invite retaliation without penalty.

B71 nails A12 after his run has ended OOB. A12 gets up and shoves B71. A50 also comes barreling in and nails B71. Team A has now committed two fouls but because B fouled once, all fouls offset.

Sorry, just doesn't make sense.

the yardage may offset for the B71/A12 altercation, but you bet your bipee you can say good-night to number A50.

Okay, from another angle...there's nothing flagrant about A50's personal foul. Still doesn't make sense that one team can commit two fouls and the other team one, yet they all offset.
