Ron Cherry

In the Maryland/NCST game last Saturday, Ron Cherry called a personal foul and announced "he was giving him the business".

Wasn't there a referee who gave a similar discription at some point? Not sure how long ago it was, but I swear I remember hearing that.

My sincerest apologies for upsetting the delicate balance of message board decorum. I have no clue who Ben Dreith is, hence my ignorance of the content of that thread.

And I think the phrase may have got it's most fampous boost when Wally Cleaver told the Beaver that if he hung out with girls, the guys would "give him the business"

Here ya go Mike

Wally: Boy, Beaver, wait'll the guys find out you were hanging around with a girl. They'll really give you the business.

Beaver: But gee, Wally, you hang around with girls and the guys don't give you the business.

Wally: Well, that's because I'm in high school. You can do a lot of stuff in high school without getting the business.

Yes, but the subject line of that thread would not lead the average poster to think it had something to do with the Ron Cherry deal. I always scan the board before I post.
