NF: Live ball NP or UC foul

Just want to ensure that I'm reading 5-1-2-a correctly... A 1/10 @ 50. A1 runs for 12 yards. A commits a live-ball, non-player or UC foul. Do you enforce from the SS and then set the chains or do they not get the new series and it would be 2nd down and whatever and the chains don't move.

thanks

In NF, a live ball Unsportsmanlike Conduct call is always treated as if it were a dead ball foul. A gained the first down, then penalize the USC and set the chains, 1st & 10 for A at the A47 if I counted right.

I would agree with that...thanks. I have always understood the intent to be that NP and UC fouls don't have a direct impact on yardage gained/lost or the play itself, however the Fed reworded that line this year. I think they were trying to clarify it and I either read it wrong or they made it worse...it's probably me. But thanks
