After the Ready

After a fair catch, A elects to put the ball in play by a snap on the right in bound mark and the ready is signaled. A1 requests a time out after which, A1 requests the ball placed in the middle and wants to put the ball in play by free kick. Should this request be granted?

Rule Ref. please.

yes they can.

i do not have a book with me now but

if A should run a play and their is a foul on B lets say for expample a defensive pass interference and the penalty is accepted.

A can still request for a free kick because it is still part of the previous play/awarded fair catch.

wish i had a book, case book has a situation like this.

sure somebody will hunt it down

This situation addresses situations “during a down”. If you’re interested, check case play 4-3-6a. His options are gone after the ready.
