this is my first year as a football official and havent yet had the opportunity to work a game, but i have a few questions.

for the underclass games like jv 9 8 7 and peewee, do you have a locker room to get ready or do you just come dressed to the game?

also how do you know what to wear long sleeves or short sleeves so everyone is the

any and all input is appreciated

I suggest you contact your local assoc regarding this. What happens nationally for these particular questions matters not one bit for you.

Your referee should advise you what to wear. Dressing facilities vary by location from yes to some to none. Your referee normally serves as the crew chief and should advise you of these matters prior to game day.

You will reach a point in the season where you pack EVERYTHING because of weather changes. Have a nice sized duffle bag to pack your uniform and equipment in. Even if you come dressed in uniform to the field, odds are you aren't going to wear it to work or class that day.

Be sure to put your shoes in a separate plastic bag before packing and its also advisable to place your "whites" in another plastic bag to help keep them clean.

Around here, for all but varsity and maybe 2 JV sites, we come dressed.

And around here, I've packed long and short sleeves (and both knickers and black shorts) to every game ... and I'm in Texas. I've worn the long sleeves exactly once ever in 6 years.
