We've had two captains choose "kick" this year. It seems to be a growing trend. They quickly changed their minds after we gave them the options again.

I've heard that the Madden video games may have something to do with this. If you choose "kick" on Madden then you get the ball in the second half.

I've never played a Madden video game, so I'm just passing this along second hand.

The officials must have asked the coaches for their coin-toss choices during pregame. Officials shouldn't allow the players to make this mistake. A little preventative officiating would have avoided all of this notoriety and controversy.

You are correct. There is no "defer" option for winning the coin flip in any video football game that I am aware of. The same as it relates to NCAA 08 (or any in the series of games).

So if you kick off in the first half, you receive in the second half. It is just the way it is. And you do not get a chance to choose in the second half what goal you want to defend either.

Peace

In COLLEGE? You're nuts.
