Aloha and Mahalo

Many thanks to the officials on Maui, Hawaii. I just returned home today from a vacation there. While on the island I attended their weekly meeting, and was given a JV game to work on Friday afternoon. The officials were very hospitable, and made me feel at home in their association. Thanks especially to Doug and Joe, for arranging to get me a game. I was very impressed by the young men who played that game as well. The sportsmanship exhibited by those players was extraordinary.

My wife and I had a very great vacation, and the football officials of Maui helped make it so. If you ever get to Northern Kentucky, look me up.

Thumbs up

Although they were "a few years" ago, twice in my lifetime I've been in a similar situation. The comraderie amongst officials is fantastic!

I've never been to Hawaii.
I did pass through your State of Kentucky once going from Michigan to North Carolina.
Enjoyed it so much, we took three days in Kentucky to get to Tennessee.
Beautiful !

If those guys or schools in Hawaii want to pay my "mileage" I'll see if I can fit a game into my schedule!

My guess is they will tell you if you can drive there then they will pay you.

My best bet is to "drive" my bicycle onto a FedEx plane.

Try driving al the way "down under" which will get you more frequent driver miles than going to Hawaii.

We have leagues in every mainland state and play by NCAA rules usually with a 5 man crew. Our season in Sydney runs similar to the US College season with the championship mid December.

Anyone on a holiday down under would be more than welcome to drop in on a game, so bring your whistle, or if during the off season we would love to hear some war stories and how we can do the job we love just a bit better.

Cheers
Darrin
