why isn't the referee wearing the white hat? late in the video clip you can see the "white hat" is #8. what's the deal?

This took place before the NFL switched to the R wearing the white hat. It used to be just the opposite (R in black hat, others in white).

This film was from the mid to late 80s. A lot of things were different.

Anyone notice that Ben Dreith mistakenly identified No. 99 as the player who the penalty was called on? Marty Lyons was No. 93, clearly visible as the player on top of Jim Kelly in the video. Gastineau was No. 99.
