Recruiting Initiative
 

Just thought I’d give you guys the heads up on an initiative that rolls out this week designed to recruit new men and women to the ranks of football officiating in Canada.

I don’t know what your numbers are like in the States, but the growth of the sport here in the GWN as left most, if not all local associations short of officials for all levels of amateur ball and it's reached a crisis point in some areas.

So, in conjunction with the CFL, an ad hoc group of representatives from Cdn locals created a simple three page website that will allow those interested to connect with the local FOA in their area and hopefully get started on-field with the little guys and move up the ladder with experience and time.

The site URL will be receiving significant support and on air mentions in CFL broadcasts this weekend, so we’re hoping to garner a goodly amount of names (“leads” as we’re calling them) of high quality potentials.

GWN= Great White North (Canada). McKenzie Brothers et al.....eh?

Having said that, as I recall from grade school, we Canucks were usually that huge pink mass just north of the USA....but GPN sounds kinda iffy to me....

Unfortunately, Rut won't remember what you said about Canada. He makes no secret about not caring about Canada, so I'm not really sure why he even asked. :cool:
