Penalty Yardage

Does anyone have an easy way to remember which fouls are 5, 10 or 15 yards?

Thanks in advance

Learn the 10 yard fouls. I don't know about Fed, but in NCAA, there are only about 8 or 9 10 yard penalties. You never should get confused with what's 5 or 15, but if you know all the 10 yard, then you'll know how to distinguish 10 and 15s.

Good idea for newer officials. There are only 6 in NF.

I have color coded the signal chart that I have in my game information envelope....

Green is 5 Yards and Red is 15....Others are just 10....

I agree with knowing your 10yd penalties, most of them involve some type illegal use of hands. (Fed)

The only tricky ones for 5 and 15 yarders are helping the runner (5) and batting/kicking the ball (15)...(Fed)

I did the same when I first started wearing the WH. Still have it in mine but I don't know if I can really tell the colors anymore.
