ineligible down field on a scrimmage kick?
 
Under NFHS:

What is the rule number or casebook reference that states an ineligible receiver can not be down field on a scrimmage kick (assuming the ball is actually kicked and not a pass)?

There is none because there is no such rule. It's only a rule in the NFL.

CANADIAN RULING:

There is no rule that prevents this action.

No such rule, partner. Perfectly legal.

Thanks very much. I didn't think there was anything stopping the lineman from going down fields before the ball was kicked, at least at the NFHS / FED level.

I thought this was an NFL rule, is this an NCAA rule as well?
