Nafl

Hi guys, our city in Canada is getting an NAFL team and so I am wondering if anyone on the forum has experience with this league. Specifically,

1. Do they use six or seven man mechanics?
2. What rules do they use?
3. What are the fees for on field, sticks, timing and travel?
4. What is the calibre of ball usually?

I have worked NAFL for 4 years now.
  1. 6 or 7 man, depending on what they want.
  2. NFL rules.
  3. We got $80 and no mileage.
  4. Quality is from bad, to pretty good depending.

3. What are the fees for on field, sticks, timing and travel? $ 100 - 125 on field only.

the good teams are good! everyone needs more team practices for organization. The bad teams are usually just open rec teams and disappear after a few seasons.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE LEAGUE AGREEMENTS ON STARTING TIMES, TIME CHANGES, FORFEITS ETC. MUST BE PAID BEFORE KICK-OFF - NO EXCEPTIONS.

If it's the NAFL I know (there may be others), it was formed mostly by the joining of existing clubs & leagues. If that's it, the answers are:
  1. Local option. You might have only 5. I haven't seen 4, but wouldn't surprise me.
  2. Previous year's NFL, probably with some modifications.
  3. Don't know. I'm not an official.
  4. Expect big variations. They're making an attempt to organize by class of play.

It was $100 per official when we did it, and then stick crew and timers were paid according to the OUA rates. Or something along those lines, it was so long ago

6 man with a full stick crew and timer.
