Rose Bowl Coin Toss/Coin

I thought it was interesting that the coin had one team on each side, and rather than have anyone call it, whichever team's side came up on the toss, they got the choice.

More interesting was the way the Referee, from the ACC, Jack Childress, handled the instructions after USC won the toss.

First he gave the options in this order: Receive, Kickoff, Defend a goal, or Defer. USC Deferred.

Then after reporting that choice, he said "Michigan, you want the football. Which way you wanna kick?"

Didn't really give anyone a chance to screw up anything.
