Enforcement of foul on successful try

Team B commits DPI on a successful try by team A.

I had a disagreement yesterday with this enforcement and out of town without rule books.

I believe this should be enforced on the ensuing kickoff (vs simply declined). Please correct me if I'm wrong. If I'm correct please let me know the rule number.

Thanks.

Declined in NCAA PI is not a personal foul

Thanks TX. Yeah, I knew the NCAA ruling as I was reading rule 8 from the NCAA book on my work commute this past week.

I'm referring to Fed rules with this one.

Kind of dangerous isn't it, reading the rulebook during the commute? You are liable to fall asleep.

You are correct. Rule change in, I beleive 2004.

8-3-5 If during a successful try, a foul by B occurs, A is given a choice of:
a. Accepting the penalty and replaying the down following the enforcement
b. Accepting the result of the play and enforcement of the penalty from the SSpot.

Accept the DPI and go up 15, no closer than the 1. Accept the DPI, count the PAT, and put 15 on the KO. Decline = bad.
