I am part of a new officiating crew that is preparing to move up to the high school varsity level next season. We have attended several varsity games with experienced crews just to observe them on the field as well as listen to there pre-game discussions. I have noticed a lot of crews have something like a checklist of things they review before each game, it may deal with mechanics, rules or other situations or pre-game activities that need to be done before, during or after the game. As a new crew for next year I'm trying to compile a checklist of our own.
I would like some feedback from you as to what things your crews review before each game or reply back with some of your suggestions. If possible could you email me your pre-game review checklist if your crew has one. I would appreciate your help on this. Thanks, R. Kay |

R.
In the officials manual there is a short checklist of pregame responsibilities. You can use that as a guide when you start at the varsity level. As you work more games as a crew, you find you will then spend more time in your pregame reviewing past games and ways to improve your overall crew performance. Like anything else, it takes time. Good luck.
