Fees
What are the registration fees to be a part of your local association and what do they include? I have been in associations that charge a state fee and a local association fee. I was wondering if the fees include the NFHS educational materials and books. What do the fees cover. I have been in four different areas around the country and all have been different. My last association I paid a $50 fee to the association and a $35 fee to the state. Just wondering what other areas do?

You are in line with what I'm used to paying.
|
We pay $20 to the state and $10 for each sport you work, associations dues any where from $25-$50 a year.
|
In Tennesssee, $50 to the state plus $25 for each additional sport. I think we paid $35 to the local association this year.
|
In Illinois we pay $40 for the 1st sport licensed in and $15 for each sport after that. I pay between $40 and $50 for my associations.
Sounds like you are in line with what we do here. |
I pay $75 for football, $55 for baseball, $45 for IAABO, then I pay $30 to my summer baseball association.
this includes all NHFS books, in the football group we also have weekly meetings that count towards our rating system. Joe |
IN Missouri, I pay 45 for football and then 25 for other sports, also pay 55 for association dues

What do you get for your dues? Are the rulebooks included from Federation in your dues? What about insurance and liability coverage, are they included in your membership dues? Also, do you have to pay the assignor a certain amount of money to get games or do the schools pay the assignor?
|
My board dues are $75. It includes NCAA rule book, state fee $10 for each member, end of season banquet, and some gift from the out-going president (past gifts; hats, shoe bag, tee shirts, long sleeve under shirt, jackets). All will have our association logo imborided on it.
There are late fees if dues are not paid by a set date. Increases of $15 for 1 week $25 2 weeks, 3 weeks $35, not paid by end of season (before turkey day) loose member in good standings and Thanksgiving game pulled. Must re-apply next year to join. |
In Tennessee, rules books, booking fees and liability insurance are paid for out of the fees.

Kansas
$40 to register with the state for the first sport and $20 for every other sport. There are no associations as the leagues schedule all games for football. This is different for say soccer but for that the schools pay the assigner and not the officials. $40 gets you the rules books, insurance, and the first step towards play-off qualification. Some small towns don't use only registered officials for the kid's games but they always try to have one there for liability purposes. |
All books are included like I said, however, baseball is the only association that still has insurance included for it's members. I had to buy NASO insurance this year for football, but I guess it covers all sports I do.
