Numbering question

Last night I attended our local High School's game. From the stands it was difficult to make out the numbering on the line , but I did notice....
Situation : A-55 lines up in the backfield. takes a pitch from Q-back A16 and throws a completed pass to TE A-88.
After the play I tried to determine if Team A had 5 players numbering 50 - 79 on the line but couldn't be sure.
I know A-55 is an ineligible receiver but can he become a passer ?

Yes, #55 can do anything with the exception of catch the ball. So long as the numbering requirements are followed, five on the line 50-79, the play is legal.

Ditto, except that we use 40 - 69.
