Opi?

A's QB rolls out in a sprint option. A82 is blocking in the expanded neutral zone, then as the QB gets near the edge, A82 releases and runs a 5 and out where he catches a pass from the QB (5 yards past the the LOS). Is this play legal or does it depend on the action on A82's block?

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

Pass interference restrictions for A begin with the snap. He cannot block...OPI.

How do you interpret 7-5-11-b:
- it is not forward pass interference if:
(b) Contact by A is immediatetly made on a B lineman and the contact does not continue beyond the expanded neutral zone

I think A82 is guilty of OPI, unless its his initial charge on a B D-lineman, he should not have been split wide and allowed to block
