Inadvertent Whistle

Working R in a Jr. High game last night, A had the ball 2/13 on their own 2 yard line.

While A was running around in the endzone, had an inadvertent whistle by a new official on the wing. A safety was the likely result of the play, but not for certain.

What would be the status of the ball?

NCAA - Team A's options for an inadvertant whistle on a running play are....

1- Accept the result of the play where the ball was when the whistle was blown (in this case a safety)

2- Replay the down from the previous spot

Didn't know that NCAA sanctions junior high games, but I wouldn't put it past them. They want to control everything, including the name of your team.

Same in Texas, except for the new timing rules.

Well, at least I got it right. I didn't give them the options, but I did take it back to the previous spot and replayed the down.
