Almost had the Bigfoot of Officiating

Fourth and ten for A at its own 5. B coach calls time out with 30 seconds in the half. A punts short. B player signals for a fair catch. Ball hits the ground simultaneous to the catch. B coach says he wants to free kick. After we get over the shock that this coach actually knew ther rules we get together and rule that he did not complete the fair catch. Thus no free kick. Coach did not even complain. We were that close to seeing it. Anyone actually seen this Bigfoot.
