Number 38 on 2006 Part II test

Does anyone know what the answer REALLY is? I answered false and got it wrong. But I still think I'm correct and the answer key by the federation is wrong.

If a drop kick or place-kick is used following a safety, it is possible to score a field goal.

The question is: "If a drop kick or place-kick is used following a safety, it is possible to score a field goal." The answer is very much FALSE, regardless of the FED answer key. 8-4-1a.

Thank you, that's what I thought. I also found a good explanation in the case book 8.4.1 situation B.

I received my score and answer key for the part II test and #38 is marked as T/F. So I'm guessing they threw this one out.

for the record I marked it as False.

Why would they throw it out?
Other than the answer key being incorrect, a very common issue with these NFHS tests, they should simply correct every ones test who got it marked wrong and give them due credit. Toss questions that really can be answered either way, this one only has one answer and that is False.

By the same token, anyone who did answer true should have a point deducted from their total score.

I agree that the answer is False, However the Fed using thier wisdom has decided to give credit for both True and False.

REPLY: What they should throw out is not the question...but the answer key! The question is fine.

My association changed the answer key to false, the correct answer. Anyone than answered true got it wrong.
